Joe Biden wasn't the only Democrat that was fooled. Many of them were, or perhaps they simply didn't want to believe it.
Whatever the reason, they all peddled the same lie:
"Inflation is temporary."
Instead of actually face the issue of the economy when it came up, Biden and other liberals thought they could kick that can down the road, not to be discovered until sometime after midterms.
It's only temporary, they asserted. Their plan was to simply wait because the economy, inflation, grocery prices, and gas prices weren't permanent problems.
Guess what, they WERE permanent problems. Liberals just didn't want to believe it.
Representative Elissa Slotkin, a Democrat, recently admitted as much on "Fox News Rundown."
"I have said this over and over, both publicly and privately since last November, every single White House press conference since, I think, last November should have started about the economy, that we should have been talking more seriously about the economy and the plan a year ago. And I’ll be honest, there were people who – on my side of the aisle, who were like, look, it’s temporary, and let’s not talk about it. And that was a crap suggestion."
