Pregnant American teacher Clara Thomann falls to her death on
It has been reported by Greek news sites that a pregnant high school teacher who was on vacation on the island of Crete tragically passed away after falling from a great height.
According to the Greek Reporter, Clara Thomann, 33, was pronounced brain-dead after she fell around 164 feet (50 meters) into a gorge in the vicinity of Preveli Monastery in the province of Rethymno on December 23, as Fox News reported.
As reported by the local news agency Nea Kriti, she had many fractures to her head and chest, and the unborn child she was carrying passed away as a result of the accident.
On December 29th, it was determined that the science instructor from Santa Barbara, who had previously worked at Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta, had passed away.

According to a statement that was released by Chania General Hospital, the woman's family made the decision to donate her organs, consisting of her corneas, liver, and kidneys.
"The injuries Clara sustained are insurmountable and she was declared brain-dead … we are all heartbroken," her family wrote in a post on Caring Bridge.
"Clara loved helping and teaching others," her family wrote.
"Naturally, she is an organ donor, and we are happy to report that her heart, liver and pancreas have already been accepted for donation."
About the Deceased
It was reported by the Los Angeles Times that Thomann had been traveling with her partner Elliott Finn.
The unexpected turn of events has stunned not only her family, but the nation.
In an interview with the Santa Barbara news outlet Noozhawk, Bill Woodard, the principal of Dos Pueblos High School, stated that there were "no words to describe the sadness we are feeling."
"Ms. Thomann was so kind and such a great teacher who loved her students and loved science. Our hearts break for her family and for all of us who are feeling this loss," Woodard said.
