Powerful Democrat Guilty Of Racketeering And Corruption

If Joe Biden is paying attention to what's happening to other powerful and corrupt Democrats around America...

He's not going to like this one.

Edward Burke, a powerful, well-known Democrat in Chicago, just went down.

Before he went to trial, Burke was considered by many living in Chicago as one of the most powerful and influential people in the city.

Now, Burke has been found guilty of 13 out of the 14 charges he was facing.

His crimes include racketeering, bribery, and attempted extortion, offenses he committed between 2016 and 2018.

The conviction of Burke also officially ended the 79-year-old’s streak of council-member service.

Before the case went to trial, he had been a member of Chicago’s council since 1969.

It seems Burke learned the hard way that you cannot force the hands of others to get what you want without facing severe consequences.

The acting U.S. Attorney for Chicago, Morris Pasqual, shared his thoughts on Burke’s conviction.

“This case was about bribery and extortion occurring at the highest levels of Chicago city government. The public voted Mr. Burke into office, and they trusted that he would be guided by and motivated by pursuing the common good. He betrayed that trust,” said Pasqual.

As racketeering is a charge originally created to hold those participating in organized crime accountable, it is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

Extortion is also punishable by up to 20 years.

Given the facts, it seems that Burke, nearly 80, very well may be spending the rest of his life behind bars.

Are there any other criminals in America that you would like to see receive the same fate as Burke?

I can think of a few! Tell us who your top picks would be in the comments below.
