Potential Trump Juror Has Son Who Works for Democrats

We all knew that jury selection for the Trump hush-money trial was going to be interesting.

People seem to either love or hate Trump, with no middle ground, so how were they going to be able to find 12 jurors and six alternates who could be unbiased?

To that point, when one juror was being questioned, it was revealed that she had a son who works for a House Democrat.

No Feelings

Both sides' biggest fear in this case is that someone with an agenda will be selected for the jury.

Be it a Trump supporter who was intent on hanging the jury or a Trump hater who was already convinced that Trump was guilty.

So, you can understand why Trump’s attorneys were concerned when they found out a potential juror had a son who is currently working for a House Democrat.

When this was revealed, Trump's attorney, Susan Necheles, asked the woman how she felt about Trump.

The potential juror stated, “It’s the first time I’ve been in a room with him. I’m a registered Democrat. But I have no feelings about him.”

She added that she was “100% confident” that she could keep an open mind in the case.

Trump’s defense team did not buy her act, however, using one of its strikes to have her removed.

This has already been quite challenging for Trump’s legal team, who saw about half the original jury pool dismissed on the first day due to prior commitments, or having admitted that they could not be impartial in the case.

By the end of Thursday, the jury had been mostly selected, only needing to complete the alternates.

As soon as they are able to finish that selection, the jury will be given its instructions and opening statements will be scheduled to start the trial.
