Popular Rapper Jailed in Romania on Drug Charges

People never seem to learn.

They go to different countries and try to pull the same stuff they do here in the States, only those foreign countries could care less about famous people and treat drugs as the epidemic they truly are.

To that point, it has been reported that rapper Wiz Khalifa has been detained in Romania on drug charges.

Dumb Move

Khalifa was performing at the Romanian Beach Please! Festival, when he allegedly pulled out a joint and smoked it on stage.

Romania’s Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) then arrested him and charged him with illegal drug possession.

DIICOT stated, “The prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Constanța Territorial Service ordered the initiation of criminal proceedings against a defendant (US citizen), investigated for the crime of unlawful possession of drugs risk.”

Deadline also reported, “During a recital held during a music festival held in the resort of Costinești, Constanța county, [Khalifa] possessed over 18 grams of cannabis (risk drug) and consumed (on stage) another amount of cannabis under the shape of a craft cigarette.”

Videos have surfaced of Khalifa being taken into custody and escorted off stage.

Somehow, the sun was shining on him that day because he was given a very lenient sentence by a judge who let him walk, even though he could have been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his little stunt.

After he was released, Khalifa stated, “Last night's show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage.

“They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time.”

I guess I better change my original position because, apparently, Romania does allow the same nonsense to take place that we allow here.
