Pope Francis transported to hospital after suffering illness for several days
Catholics across the world will be praying for the speedy recovery of Pope Francis.
According to the Daily Caller, "Pope Francis was hospitalized Friday and is currently being treated for bronchitis."
The Vatican News reported that Pope Francis was admitted to Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic Hospital in Rome to receive medical care after suffering from illness for several days.
Pope Francis is expected to undergo several diagnostic tests and receive proper treatment for his ongoing battle with bronchitis.
A statement indicated that Pope Francis' current health condition would force the scheduled events for the Jubilee of Artists to be adjusted.
"The Jubilee Audience scheduled for tomorrow, February 15, has been canceled. The Holy Mass for the Jubilee of Artists and the World of Culture, set to take place on Sunday, February 16, will be presided over by His Eminence Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education," a statement read.
This isn't the first time that Pope Francis has left his followers worried in recent months.
Just a few weeks ago, Pope Francis tripped while entering the Vatican after the handle of his walking stick snapped.

The Pontiff avoided falling on that particular occasion but hasn't been so lucky in other instances.
In January, Pope Francis fell and hurt his right arm. It was placed in a sling as a precaution.
The month before, he banged his chin on his nightstand during a fall that resulted in a bad bruise.
Speculation about Francis' health has been a constant in Catholic circles. The man is 88 years old, after all.
Pope Benedict XVI resigned from the position in 2013, citing a 2012 fall that left him unable to "keep up with the globe-trotting demands of the papacy."
Despite his recent health struggles, Pope Francis has said that he has no plans to resign anytime soon. Francis even said that major intestinal surgery didn't result in retirement entering his mind.
