Polling Flips in Trump’s Favor Ahead of Debate
Unlike most publications, I try to report accurately on polling, regardless of where it stands.
While even Fox News was saying that the conviction did not hurt Trump, it simply was not true.
Trump took a huge hit with Independents, but even as I was reporting that I had stated that I thought Trump could bounce back, but I just thought it would happen after the debate and a possible appeal.
Flipping the Script
Biden’s momentum in polling was very short-lived, and I would imagine after that debate, it is only going to get worse for Joe and better for Donnie Teflon.
Just prior to the debate, the latest New York Times/Siena College poll was released.
In national polling, Joe Biden had actually taken a lead of 0.2% after Trump’s conviction, but this poll has flipped that.
According to FiveThirtyEight, Trump is now back ahead, 41.1% to 40.8%.
In the Times survey, Trump was ahead of Biden, 48% to 44%.
Trump also led Biden in the latest Quinnipiac Survey, with Trump and Biden being tied in the latest New York Post and YouGov surveys.
I think most people are starting to realize just how rigged that case was against Trump, and they are starting to change their minds.
My feeling about the polling we will start to see next week is that the undecided vote will tick up again considerably as all those fence-sitters who went with Biden after the conviction get back on the fence and wait until we get closer to the election to make their decision.
Biden has shockingly stated that he will do another debate against Trump, but I am sure people are going to try to talk him out of it.
Having said all that, I am still baffled by the fact that Trump is even in this close of a fight with a man who can barely stand up, struggles to walk down steps, and has brain freezes about every 10 minutes.
I guess we all knew this would be the case when Trump took the nomination over DeSantis, however.
It was never going to be easy and Trump needs to keep the pedal to the metal until the voting booths open up on election day.
