Police Determine Murder of Samantha Woll Not a Hate Crime

The death of Samanth Woll, the president of a Detroit synagogue, was horrific, as was the timing.

She was stabbed to death after the Hamas attack against Israel, as pro-Palestinian protests were popping up all over the country.

The natural assumption was that she was killed for her faith and leadership role at the synagogue, but police say that was not the case.

Not an Anti-Semitic Attack

Woll, who is also a political strategist, was found dead in front of her home early Saturday morning in the upscale neighborhood of Lafayette Park, where we have seen an increase in crime as of late.

Police responded to a call of an unresponsive individual lying on the sidewalk outside of Woll’s townhouse.

Police then tracked her activity, learning that she had attended a wedding, then returned home around 12:30 a.m., which is when they believe she was attacked just inside the home, and then collapsed outside.

Detroit Chief of Police James E. White announced on Monday that they did not believe this was a hate crime.

White stated, "We believe that there are no other groups or anyone else at risk in regard to this particular incident.

"We believe this incident was not motivated by antisemitism and this suspect acted alone."

White did not give any details as to motive, stating, "We have to be very, very cautious as to what information we share.

"There are some very intricate details about this case that, if revealed, could really damage what we're trying to accomplish. There are some facts that are known only to our suspect."

Considering recent events, I am not sure residents are going to accept that.

I am sure members of her congregation were not happy with the anti-Semitic rhetoric that has been spewing from Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) as of late, who has openly accused Israel of war crimes.

She also pushed the Hamas narrative that Israel had bombed the Gaza hospital, even after it was debunked and proven that a Hamas rocket had malfunctioned and hit the hospital by mistake.

If a Republican had said what she said and a liberal was attacked, you better believe that Republican would be getting blamed for the attack... just see every assault that Democrats blamed on Trump when he was in office.
