Well, it turns out that Donald Trump is not the only one benefitting from his indictments.
To this point, some of Trump’s biggest fundraising days followed one of the indictments.
This time around, former Vice President Mike Pence also enjoyed a burst of activity in his campaign accounts, reported The Hill.
Surprise!
There are still a lot of people out there that like Mike Pence, and he is seeing that love after the latest Trump indictment.
According to a Washington Examiner report, Pence, received more than 7,400 individual donations after the news hit that Trump had been indicted.
This is not Trump money, but for a candidate that has zero chance of winning the nomination, Pence got a pretty significant haul to keep his campaign alive.
When the indictment came down, Pence offered up one of the most scathing comments about Trump to date, clearly putting separation between himself and Trump.
This was out of character for Pence who, to this point, had been getting along fairly well with Trump aside from the disagreement of what Pence could and could not do regarding his role in the certification of the election on January 6.
Pence then added, “I will have more to say about the government’s case after reviewing the indictment.
“The former president is entitled to the presumption of innocence but with this indictment, his candidacy means more talk about January 6th and more distractions.”
I really hope Trump changes his mind and attends the first debate on August 23, which is hosted by Fox News.
Aside from the obvious battle between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, there are two other people that I really want to see Trump take on.
That being Chris Christie, who has made it a point that he wants to take Trump out of this race, and Mike Pence, just to see how they argue Pence’s role on January 6.
Each of these men would clearly take a different plan of attack, and I would love to see how Trump plans to return fire against each of them.
As it stands now, though, Trump will be watching the debate on his sofa and likely blowing up Truth Social as the rest of the field bashes an empty center-stage podium.
