There are few people in our government right now that do not believe that TikTok is a dangerous social media platform for this country.
In fact, some governors in this country have already banned TikTok from official government devices.
A bipartisan bill to ban TikTok from all government devices (in fact, it was unanimous) has already been passed in the Senate.
House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA), however, is not committed to putting that bill on the House floor before the session ends.
It is completely baffling that Pelosi would not put this bill on the floor.
The only reason would be to try to protect Biden and/or other Democrats that have ties to the Chinese.
This was a bill that was sponsored by Republicans, yet it unanimously passed, so there is clearly some urgency among lawmakers on this.
Furthermore, you better believe that Republicans will put this legislation on the floor as soon as they take over the House.
When Pelosi was asked about the bill hitting the floor, she stated, "I'll take a look and see.
"I don't know if that will be on the agenda next week, but let's see."
Treasury Secretary Yellen has concerns about TikTok, and FBI Director Wray has also issued a warning.
He stated, "All of these things are in the hands of a government that doesn't share our values, and that has a mission that's very much at odds with what's in the best interests of the United States. That should concern us."
TikTok's Chief Operating Officer Vanessa Pappas says the company will never share information with the Chinese government, "period," but we all know how China does business, so that statement means little.
The app is owned by ByteDance, a Beijein-based business, meaning it could be compelled by the Chinese government to turn over data.
So, once again, we have Pelosi NOT looking out for the interests of Americans.
This bill should have been on the floor as soon as the Senate handed it off to her, but Americans are clearly not her priority.
