Pelosi Still Calling the Shots in the Democrat House
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) may have ceded her title, but she is proving time and again that she is the real shot caller in the House for Democrats.
It seems fairly clear that Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) is just as much a puppet as Joe Biden is in the White House.
Pelosi has once again flexed her muscle by having Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) ousted from his leadership post in favor of Rep. Jamie Raskin (D.MD).
The Real Leader
Nadler has been the ranking member for Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee for nearly a decade, but that just changed.
Reports surfaced about a week ago that Pelosi wanted Nadler out, so she was backing Raskin to take over as the ranking member.
Raskin is 16 years younger than Nadler, but more importantly, he is an affirmed anti-Trumper, and that is how Pelosi wants to use him.
During the election, the rumors were that if Harris had won the election, this coming term would have likely been the last for Pelosi.
But, since Trump won, she sees herself as the only person who can truly stop him, so now she plans on sticking around and flexing her muscle to influence the makeup of Democrat leadership.
As you recall, Pelosi was also allegedly the architect behind removing Biden from the ticket.
Brad Bannon, a Democratic strategist explained, “If Pelosi had not intervened, Biden would have been our nominee, and he would have lost badly, and perhaps cost us a Senate seat or two more than we suffered, and probably a few House races.
“I think because he was the Democratic leader, he didn’t feel it was incumbent upon him to ease Biden out. So I think he left the work to Pelosi.
“I think Jeffries got the desired outcome without his fingerprints all over it. So Pelosi served a useful purpose for the minority leader.”
This is not sitting well with some of her fellow Democrats, with Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) recently telling her to call it a day.
Fetterman shredded her for ousting Biden, then blaming Biden for the loss, stating, “She really tried to — what’s the word I’m looking for? — she embraced this, ‘she’s the godmother, she’s the enforcer.’
“And now she’s blaming Biden. Well, you can’t have it both ways.”
“You got what you wanted, and now you’re still blaming Biden. I think it’s really ironic that you have a woman at age 84, and she is still hanging on. Why not give a younger generation an opportunity to occupy that seat?”
Other Democrats would also like to see her go, with one anonymous source stating, “Pelosi is done. She should quit now before completely destroying her legacy. It’s sad to see her go out this way: old, bitter, and desperate for relevance.”
You would think Pelosi would see the election of Trump as a rebuke on her policies, but she obviously did not read the memo.
Like Obama, she fails to get it, so I say let them all continue to spew their rhetoric because it is only their party they are destroying.
