Pelosi Served Subpoena in California Criminal Case
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has just been served.
Pelosi was issued a subpoena to produce documentation regarding a criminal case in California.
News of this broke on Thursday when the House Clerk followed protocol by making the announcement to members of Congress.
You’ve Been Served…
Pelosi’s statement to the Clerk stated:
"This is to notify you formally pursuant to Rule Eight of the rules of the House of Representatives, that I, the Honorable Nancy Pelosi, Speaker Emerita, and U.S. Representative for the 11th Congressional District of California, have been served with third party subpoenas from the prosecution and the defendant to produce documents in a criminal case and United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
"After consultation with the Office of General Counsel, I have determined that compliance with the subpoenas is consistent with the privileges and of the House to the extent it requires production of non-privileged information. The responses to the subpoenas will be identical.”
There was no hint as to what the subpoena was related to, but I would have to think this has something to do with the attack against her husband, Paul Pelosi, last year.
Paul Pelosi was severely injured during a home invasion by a man who was looking for Nancy.
When police arrived, Paul Pelosi and the intruder were struggling for possession of a hammer, which Pelosi lost.
Before police could intervene, the man had hit Pelosi in the head several times, smashing his skull.
Pelosi went to the hospital and by all accounts, he has recovered from the injuries.
It is hard to imagine what else this would be related to, as Pelosi has pretty much been flying under the radar since she lost the gavel when the GOP secured the majority after the 2022 election.
I am sure we will get more information on this soon enough and if it is anything major, we will update the report.
