Peanut the Squirrel’s Owner Wants to Know Who Ratted Him Out

This week, one of the bigger stories of the news cycle outside of the election was the murder of Peanut the Squirrel and Fred the Racoon.

Both animals were owned by Mark and Daniela Longo, who created an online presence for Peanut and even started a charitable foundation that bears his name.

Now the Longos are trying to figure out who, after nearly a decade, filed a complaint that resulted in local authorities raiding their home, capturing and taking Peanut and Fred, and euthanizing the animals.

We Want to Know

Peanut had a social media following of about 500,000 fans, which is pretty significant for an influencer.

The Longos seem to believe that the added income they were making with Peanut’s fans may have created some jealous neighbors.

Mark Longo stated, “Maybe it’s someone who thinks I use this place to make a lot of money.

“Did this do wonders to my OnlyFans? Absolutely. It’s making a lot of money from this.”

Mark continued, “I had my own kind of squirrel dad account, my own Instagram.

“And it’s me doing my workouts and a lot of the times, you know, I don’t have time to make [dual] content like I used to.

“I just tag my squirrel dad account from the P’nut video I posted, so it gets double the clip views.

“Every once in a while, a shirtless photo [on P’nut’s page, too], but I completely separated myself from this entire thing. Obviously, people were going to find both and try to associate them.”

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation raided the home and captured Peanut and Fred over alleged concerns of rabies since they were in such close contact with people.

This has only driven the point of government overreach home for many people, and while I doubt it will result in the GOP winning more seats in New York or Trump winning the state, it could hurt them in the popular vote and in other states.

New York Governor Hochul has yet to comment on the matter. Meanwhile, #Justice4Peanut continues to trend on social media.
