Christie Says He Does Not Support a Pardon for Trump

Former NJ Governor Chris Christie found out both during and after the debate that he has no chance of winning this election.

That was never his real purpose for getting into this race, however.

He is here to take down Trump, and he continued that approach, expanding on something he stated during the debate, reported CBS News.

No Pardon for You

Remember the Soup Nazi from “Seinfeld?” His big line was, “No soup for you” whenever someone pissed him off.

Well, Trump has pissed off Christie and this goes back to Christie getting snubbed for a cabinet position after he busted hi hum for Trump during the election.

One of the questions during the debate was about pardoning Trump if he gets convicted and they were president.

Christie was adamantly against the pardon of Trump, saying that “someone’s got to stop normalizing this conduct.”

He expanded upon that during a post-debate interview with MSNBC.

Christie stated, “It should be used with mercy and reason. And there’s no reason to show mercy on Donald Trump, when he doesn’t even want to admit that anything he did was wrong,” reported Yahoo.

Christie and DeSantis were seen huddling during a commercial break of the debate, and Trump supporters were quick to accuse him of working a deal with DeSantis.

If they do have a deal, it will not matter much going into the next debate because I would be highly surprised if Christie qualifies with three percent in polling.

He was barely over one percent headed into the first debate and he lost support in the early polling post-debate.

That, of course, will not stop him from doing the media circuit and hammering Trump, but it just will not be the same as possibly taking Trump on in person on the debate stage.

Personally, I would have loved to have seen those fireworks go off on Wednesday night, but that does not seem to be in the cards this election cycle.
