Pam Bondi warns terrorists targeting Tesla: 'We're coming after you'

The recent wave of violence targeting Tesla dealerships has prompted a response from the Department of Justice.

Attorney General Pam Bondi is opening an investigation into vandalism targeting Elon Musk's electric car company, as President Trump suggests treating such incidents like domestic terrorism.

Musk's role in the Trump administration has sparked protests as well as violent backlash, with vandals targeting Tesla dealerships, charging stations, and even Tesla owners around the country.

Bondi warns Tesla terrorists

To many, the chaos appears coordinated, and Bondi said she's going to find out who is funding it all.

"They are targeting Tesla dealerships, the stations where you charge a Tesla. They're vandalizing cars. I have already directed an investigation be opened to see, how is this being funded? Who is behind this, doing this?" Bondi said on Fox News Mornings with Maria Friday.

Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been making aggressive cuts to the federal bureaucracy, sparking a furious reaction from government workers who comprise a significant Democratic party constituency.

While Musk's critics have characterized the show of opposition as peaceful protest, there have been numerous incidents of vandalism and arson. Some Tesla dealerships have been shot at, one of them twice in the same week.

During a Fox News interview, Bondi warned that the Trump administration won't tolerate anarchy. She pointed to a man facing 20 years in prison for tossing a Molotov cocktail at a dealership.

"We have people we're locking up on that," Bondi told Fox News.

"We have someone in jail right now from one of the dealerships. They threw a Molotov cocktail through a dealership. They're looking at up to 20 years in prison," Bondi added.

Cracking down on terrorists

As Musk accuses billionaire leftist George Soros of bankrolling the so-called protests - which have also led to violence against Tesla in other countries - Bondi warned that anyone funding the terror will be held accountable.

"So if you're going to touch a Tesla, go to a dealership, do anything – you better watch out, because we're coming after you," the AG continued. "And if you're funding this, we're coming after you. We're going to find out who you are."

President Trump bought a Tesla at the White House last week, in a show of support for Musk. Trump said those targeting Musk's "great" company are terrorists and will be treated as such.

"We're going to catch them and let me tell you, you do it to Tesla and any company we're going to catch you and you're going to go through hell," Trump said. "They're harming a great American company."
