PA legislators introducing bill to make it a felony to take children to drag shows
Republicans continue to go after the woke agenda, which includes clamping down on young children being subject to sexually suggestive drag shows.
This all came to a head about five years ago, when even my former home of Roanoke, TX, was impacted.
PA legislators are now trying to set the standard, making it a felony to bring a child to a drag show.
Just Not Right
If adults want to go to drag shows, who cares, right? But children are a completely different story.
As I had reported at the time, a local business owner in Roanoke whose son was a drag queen put on a show that shocked the neighborhood.
The show, which had a previous outside on the patio, horrified some of my neighbors, as drag queens were dancing suggestively in front of children, even taking $1 tips like you would see at a strip bar from the kids.
To add insult to injury, the club had secured ANTIFA members for security, who were even trying to block residents from betting by.
It got tense, and I am actually surprised the entire situation did not flare up, but it did bring national attention to what was happening.
PA Republican state Rep. Robert Leadbeter has informed his colleagues that he will be introducing legislation on this front.
He stated, “Under current law, it is an offense for an individual to commit any act that tends to corrupt the morals of a minor.”
He continued that the courts have determined this means “any act that would offend the common sense of the community and the sense of decency, propriety, and morality which most people entertain.
“To avoid any ambiguity as to whether taking a minor to a drag show constitutes the offense of corruption of minors, my legislation will explicitly provide that such conduct is proscribed under the laws of this Commonwealth.
He added, “My legislation aligns with existing public decency laws and seeks to uphold traditional family values and parental rights.”
I know that some would call this prudish, but I usually ask them how horrified they would be if they found out a friend took a 10-year-old to a Vegas strip bar.
The answer is all the same, saying it is ridiculous to think they would support something like that, yet these same people think it is okay for a man, dressed like a woman, to gyrate in front of their child and solicit tips.
