So, here is a shocker.
We will NOT have the election results on election day in PA.
Due to the state's ridiculous election laws and inability to adapt, it will likely be days before we find out who wins that Senate seat.
Not Happening
Acting PA Secretary of the Commonwealth Leigh Chapman broke the news on Wednesday.
PA does not allow early ballots to be verified or opened until election morning.
With one million ballots requested and more than half already returned, it is going to take some time.
There are other states that count the day of, but they manage to have enough staff on hand to knock them out in one night.
Other states allow the ballots at least be verified before the election, while other states will allow them to be counted but will not release the results until election day.
The fact PA cannot get this right is utterly ridiculous.
Chapman is trying to be proactive so there are no claims of a rigged election.
She stated, "The best we can do is just manage expectations and let voters know that election officials need to do their job.
"They need to ensure that they're counting every vote, and delays in results does not mean anything bad is happening.
"It doesn't mean ballots are showing up out of nowhere.
"It's because of that restriction where we can't start preprocessing or canvassing those votes until election morning."
This will be one of the most watched elections in the country, and we will probably have to wait until the end of the week to get a result.
