Oprah Denies Reports She Was Paid $1 Million by Harris Campaign
Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Oprah Winfrey was among the many stars that were paid by the Harris campaign to help her get elected.
Those reports claimed that Oprah had been paid a sum of $1 million for her help.
On Tuesday, Oprah denied the claims, saying she was never paid a fee by the Harris campaign.
The Denial
After the election, it was reported that the Harris campaign was in a $20 million hole after paying exorbitant fees to stars for their help with her election.
The Washington Examiner reported that the Town Hall hosted by Oprah cost the Harris campaign $1 million to Winfrey’s production company, Harpo.
On Election Eve, Oprah also appeared at a Harris rally, offering her endorsement to Harris.
The Examiner reported, "A source familiar with the matter told the Washington Examiner that the Harris campaign spent six figures on building a set for Harris’s appearance on the popular Call Her Daddy podcast with host Alex Cooper.
"The interview came out in October and was reportedly filmed in a hotel room in Washington, D.C."
Winfrey then denied the claims, with a Harpo spokesperson stating, “The campaign paid for the production costs of ‘Unite for America,’ a live-streaming event that took place Sept. 19 outside Detroit, Mich.
“Oprah Winfrey was at no point during the campaign paid a personal fee, nor did she receive a fee from Harpo.”
This, my friends, is semantics. Notice they did not deny the production company being paid, which was the original claim. And who do you think ultimately gets the profits from the production company… yes, that would be Oprah Winfrey.
There may not be a check with Orpah’s name on it, but if there is a check made out to Harpo, that money will eventually find its way into Winfrey’s bank account.
As I stated before, these people spotted Harris coming a mile away and took advantage by tapping into that campaign money as much as possible.
