Actress Olivia Hussey passes away at age 73
Olivia Hussey has been famous since 1968, when she was just 15 years old.
It would appear as though the Romeo and Juliet actress has taken her last bow.
The famous actress passed away on Dec. 27 at the age of 73.
Hussey's family announced the star's passing on Hussey's official Instagram page, saying that the legendary star had passed away "peacefully at home" just two days after Christmas.
Included in the post was an image of Hussey and the assertion that she was a "'remarkable person' who had 'lived a life full of passion.'"
Hussey got her first big break at just 15 years old when she was cast in the screen adaptation of William Shakespeare's beloved play, Romeo and Juliet.
Hussey was born on April 17, 1951, in Argentina, the daughter of opera singer Andrés Osuna.
When Olivia was just a young girl, she moved to London with her brother and her mother, who was from England.
In London, Hussey studied drama at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts for five years, honing her craft.
Back in 2018, Hussey discussed finding her love for acting at a young age.
"She recalled, "I used to walk around the house with a towel on my head pretending to be a nun. One day I just said, 'I don't know about being a nun. I like pretending to be a nun. Maybe if I was an actress, I could pretend to be a nun and still be me.'"
Hussey began acting on the stage at the age of 13, which led to her being scouted for Paramount's big 1968 movie, Romeo and Juliet, directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
The movie was a box office hit at the time of its release, earning almost $40,000,000 in theaters against a budget of just under $1,000,000.
In honor of her performance, Hussey received a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer -- Female.
Rest in peace, Olivia! Your fans will not forget you anytime soon!
