Obama Judge Blocks Biden Asylum Rule

Immigration was so out of control, even Joe Biden and Secretary Mayorkas knew that something had to be done.

So, they adopted “new” asylum rules that were eerily familiar to the rules that Donald Trump had in place.

Well, liberals freaked out, and the ACLU, among other immigrant rights advocacy groups, sued the Biden administration to block the rule, giving Joe a little taste of what Donald Trump faced when he was in office.

That’s a Hard No

The case ended up falling before Judge Jon Tigar in the Northern District of California, reported the Washington Examiner.

Tigar is an Obama appointee, so Biden had to figure that an appointment by his bracelet buddy would cut Joe a break on this one and allow the rule to stay in place.

That would be a hard “no,” as Tigar blocked the rule, putting it on hold for 14 days for the Biden administration to form its appeal.

The rule was pulled from the Trump immigration era rule called “Safe Third Country Agreement.”

The rule would give the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) the ability to bar migrants from entry without court proceedings based on a certain criterion. In this case, it would be passing through another country without requesting asylum there first.

While the Department of Justice (DOJ) is expected to appeal the decision, this is a crushing blow for Biden, as immigration numbers have gone down in recent months, reported CNN.

This is a collective result of the efforts being put in by Governor Greg Abbott in Texas and the new rule that allows for immediate expulsion. With that rule now blocked, we can expect numbers to go up significantly over the next two weeks.

If this rule is ended, we are likely to see another surge in numbers that we were seeing in the spring.

If that happens, immigration again gets moved to front and center and the timing could not be worse, with campaign season just about to get rolling full steam.
