Well, now I have seen it all.
New York Attorney General Letitia James has been able to use valuations and testimony from her witnesses.
One witness, in fact, cost the state of New York more than $900 per hour.
Yet, now that the Defense is about to take over, she wants to refuse Donald Trump his right to have his own expert witnesses testify.
Shut Him Down
James filed an objection to Trump being able to call his four expert witnesses (four of 127 possible witnesses) on Wednesday.
She did so based on a partial summary judgment issued by Judge Engoron before the trial even started.
Her objection stated, “Based on the Court’s Decision, Plaintiff’s affirmative case has been appropriately narrowed to establishing the Defendants’ intent to defraud, the amount of disgorgement, and facts bearing on Plaintiff’s entitlement to the forms of equitable relief not already awarded by the Court.”
James called their testimony “irrelevant” based on that judgment.
Now we are really going to see how biased Engoron is in this case.
Trump, I believe, already has more than enough to, at the very least, request a new trial. If Engoron denies his expert witnesses, that should be a slam dunk.
The meat for Trump, however, is in winning this case on appeal, which, again, I think Trump has a very strong case.
I have done my own research on the properties around Mar-a-Lago, and I can flat out tell you the valuation of the property was well below market value.
I have seen properties up for sale that are one-tenth the size of Trump’s property, with none of the amenities he offers, going for close to $60 million. Now, if a regular 6,000 sq. ft. home is going for $60 million, what will a 62,000 sq. ft club with all those amenities go for? It just makes no sense.
Expect some serious fireworks over when the Defense team gets rolling.
