Newly elected Republican House member George Santos continues to be an embarrassment for the GOP.
Now that his name is back in the headlines, Brazilian authorities have decided to revive fraud charges he had faced prior.
The case had been dropped nearly a decade ago because Brazilian authorities were unable to locate Santos.
With him now in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, Brazil has revived the old charges.
Taking Him Down
I am surprised by the support that Santos has received from some members of Congress.
They are actually trying to villainize people like Tulsi Gabbard who are calling Santos out for his lies.
This was not just a small error on his resume, but a completely fabricated past to make himself more appealing to voters.
If he is going to lie on that scale, how can this man ever be trusted? Not only, but there are more stories coming up from his past that make it pretty apparent, at least to me, that Santos is nothing more than a con man.
Above all that, Santos is now facing allegations related to a stolen checkbook when he was living in Brazil.
Santos is already facing numerous domestic investigations because of his fabricated past.
Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly stated, "The numerous fabrications and inconsistencies associated with Congressman-Elect Santos are nothing short of stunning.
"The residents of Nassau County and other parts of the third district must have an honest and accountable representative in Congress. No one is above the law and if a crime was committed in this county, we will prosecute it."
To add more fuel to the fire, Santos is now also being investigated by the FEC for his campaign spending, with numerous $199 charges that were expensed to the campaign.
Santos says it is a database error, but he has proven to be about as trustworthy as Bill Clinton inside the Bunny Ranch.
