'Not Resigning:' Speaker Johnson Defiant After Supporting Warrantless Surveilance

House Speaker Mike Johnson's office recently sent a message straight to Breitbart News clearing up any confusion about the Johnson's intentions in the near future.

"He's not resigning."

The message came from Raj Shah, the Republican speaker's spokesman.

It is worth noting that even when they know they're going to be ousted, the Speaker of the House and their team rarely admits it.

Back on Sept. 25, 2015, then-spokeswoman for then-Speaker John Boehner responded to a report that two different sources indicated that the GOP was willing to cross over and oust Boehner from the speakership by saying that "this is ridiculous and both your sources are wrong."

The next day, Boehner announced his intentions to resign.

The current speaker doesn't appear to be in any better of a situation than Boehner was either. Beginning with terrible fundraising numbers, Johnson's run at the top of our House of Representatives has been lackluster at best.

Kevin McCarthy, Johnson's predecessor, raised much more money during a similar timeframe.

Johnson has also gained some enemies from the way he's handled sending aid to Ukraine.

At different times, Johnson appears ready to abandon the people who put him in power and cross over to do what Joe Biden wants in regard to Russia and Ukraine.

Only time will tell what eventually ends up happening to the rest of Mike Johnson's scheduled tenure as America's Speaker of the House but it's inarguable that Johnson hasn't had the easiest time of things in office.

Let's be fair to him, he entered into a relatively difficult position.

Some would argue that this country is as divided as it has ever been, and he entered into a role in which the previous holder had just been removed by members of his own party.

Mike Johnson hasn't done a perfect job, but at least for now, it's still his job.
