The GOP now has a fairly significant problem on its hands regarding the 2024 election.
Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) was being touted as the man that could possibly unseat Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and turn that blue set red in a key battleground match.
Tiffany, however, does not want to take the leap, so he is going to stay in the House, where he knows his re-election bid is all but certain, reported NBC News.
Not This Time
Baldwin had a solid double-digit win in 2018, but times have changed.
Today, Wisconsin is one of the true battleground states, but it does appear that voters in the state are getting fed up with the Democrat Party and Joe Biden.
As such, Baldwin’s seat was on the block as a possible flip, but that is not likely to happen without Tiffany or another big name running against her.
In announcing that he was going to stay put, Tiffany stated, “Let there be no doubt, I will continue to hold the Biden administration accountable for their fiscal recklessness, open border disaster, and the weaponization of the Justice Department against the American people.
“America and Wisconsin can do better than the current status quo. I look forward to working with our nominees for President and U.S. Senate to turn Wisconsin red in 2024,” reported the Washington Examiner.
The most recognizable name that will likely enter the race now is Sheriff David Clarke, who is a huge supporter of Donald Trump, but I am not sure that will be an asset in a state that seems to be shying away from Trump candidates.
A total of 34 seats are up for grabs in the Senate in 2024, and Democrats have to defend 23 of them, so this is an opportunity that we must take full advantage of.
Someone big needs to step up in Wisconsin and snatch that seat right out from under the Democrats.
