No Labels Ends Effort to Have Candidate in 2024 Election

Joe Biden and Donald Trump can both breathe a sigh of relief after the latest announcement by No Labels.

The group has decided not to run a third-party candidate

This is likely more of a relief for Joe Biden, as third-party candidates have regularly hurt his campaign than Trump’s in polling.

Sigh of Relief

When No Labels first started to look at candidates, Kennedy and Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) were among the targets.

Kennedy has since decided to go independent, but Manchin would have taken significant votes away from Biden.

Manchin eventually removed his name from consideration, which sent No Labels back to the drawing board looking for a candidate again.

Reports soon surfaced that No Labels was courting Chris Christie, which would have introduced a candidate that would siphon votes away from Trump.

However, Christie also removed himself from running saying that this was not the way that he wanted to beat Trump.

Now, the party has given up, stating that the “responsible course of action is for us to stand down."

The party added, "We will remain engaged over the next year during what is likely to be the most divisive presidential election of our lifetimes.

"We will promote dialogue around major policy challenges and call out both sides when they speak and act in bad faith."

Members of the group were adamant they did not want to play spoiler, but would run only if they had a candidate they thought could compete.

One member stated, "It was getting very difficult to get a real quality candidate to step forward. And we were true to our word that we would not just run someone and be a spoiler.”

If we are being honest here, No Labels will never be able to put a candidate into an election that would stand a legitimate chance against the two major parties, which some view as a real problem in this country.

The only reason that Kennedy has a real shot in this election is because of Donald Trump’s legal problems.

If Trump is convicted of a felony, roughly 30% of his support leaves, but even then, his full allotment would have to vote for Kennedy to give him a realistic shot of winning based on his current 3-way polling numbers.
