Nikki Haley: Trump Will Not Win General Election

Nikki Haley knows that if she does not win South Carolina, for all intents and purposes, her campaign is over.

Current polling has Trump lapping her, up by 30 points in Haley’s home state, and her fellow South Carolina politicians are just about all on the Trump Train.

So, Haley is throwing a Hail Mary, warning voters that if Trump is nominated, we are doomed to another loss in 2024.

Hail Mary Time

Haley was recently asked about her vow to stay in the race even if she loses South Carolina.

When Trump had a case slated to start on March 4, it made sense for her to stick around just in case Trump got convicted.

Now, however, with virtually every case getting delayed, staying in when you have no path forward and no chance of a verdict coming in before the primary elections are over, it just does not make sense to stick around.

When Haley was asked about her strategy, she responded, “What I’m trying to tell all Republicans and anybody, independents as well, anybody that’s voting in those primaries, is if you want a change in our country, which I think the entire country wants a change, we won’t get a change if we don’t win an election. Donald Trump will not win the general election.

“You can have him win any primary you want. He will not win a general election.

“We will have a female president of the United States. It will either be me or it will be Kamala Harris.

“But if Donald Trump is the nominee, you can mark my words, he will not win a general election.

“And what I say to everybody is, don’t complain about what happens in a general election if you don’t really think about that in this primary. We can do better.”

What she is saying is not necessarily just rhetoric to try to drive voters to her in South Carolina.

The polling in this has been very clear, and Trump will lose significant support if he is convicted of a felony and even more if he is sentenced to jail, hence why Trump is trying to get all of these cases delayed until after the general election is over.

Even now, Trump is not dominating Joe Biden in polling, but he is winning. Point being, even if Trump can delay the cases, this election is going to be close, and Democrats have not yet even started to attack Trump.

Again, Haley has a point, but my guess is that it will not matter, and she is going to get embarrassed in her home state on Saturday.
