Nikki Haley Releases Her Delegates to Donald Trump
Nikki Haley is making a gesture to help try to unite the party and get her supporters on board with a Donald Trump residency.
Haley currently has 97 delegates, all of which she is releasing to Donald Trump.
In making her announcement, Haley called for “Republican unity.”
Time to Come Together
This primary was rather brutal for the Republican Party in terms of the party trying to eat itself.
The attacks that took place during the primary were simply unacceptable to supporters of Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis.
Some of Trump’s surrogates, and this would include Trump’s campaign spokesperson and main social media person, made this very personal for Haley and DeSantis supporters.
Haley appears to want to put those attacks in the rearview mirror by turning over her delegates to Donald Trump.
In her call for unity, she stated, “The nominating convention is a time for Republican unity.
“JOE BIDEN is not competent to serve a second term and KAMALA HARRIS would be a disaster for America. We need a president who will hold our enemies to account, secure our border, cut our debt, and get our economy back on track.
“I encourage my delegates to support Donald Trump next week in Milwaukee.”
Ironically, despite her call for unity, Haley was not invited to the convention by Donald Trump’s team.
When Haley’s team was asked about not being invited to the convention by Trump’s team, her office stated that she had “not been invited.”
The campaign, “Trump deserves the convention he wants. She’s made it clear she’s voting for him and wishes him the best.”
Many supporters of these two candidates have been waiting for some type of olive branch to be extended, especially to DeSantis, who was viciously attacked by the Trump team, but it has yet to happen.
For his part, DeSantis has stated he will help Trump win, but that is about as far as it went. As of this writing, it was unclear if DeSantis would be appearing at the RNC.
