NHL Player Refuses to Take Ice for Pride Night Warmup

It turns out, you can protest the National Anthem and not come out for the pregame song, but if you protest something that is related to a liberal cause, even if you do it with complete respect, you face the wrath of the liberal horde.

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov decided to skip warmups during the club's Pride Night.

NHL clubs tape their sticks with rainbow tape and wear Pride jerseys during the pregame warmups.

The gear is then usually sold on the team's auction site to raise money for the cause.

Provorov refused for religious reasons.

The fact this got out is all due to writers in the city being upset that he did not take the ice. When he was asked why he was not out there, he was more than respectful, not insulting anyone or anything, simply saying that he needed to be true to himself…

The pushback from the media was quick and fierce…

People literally wanted him benched for not supporting the cause, yet they were outraged when conservatives were upset over people kneeling for the anthem or refusing to come out for the anthem.

Oh, speaking of them being upset over the anthem and support for the military…

Everyone was melting down over the fact the Flyers let him take the ice…

He did get support from conservatives, however…

You guys know I am not one for sports stars to bring social causes, but that was not what Provorov was doing here.

He did not make a scene, he did not request media, he just did not want to take the ice for the warmup and wear the sweater.

As happened during the anthem protests, it was the media that made this a "thing," rather than the player.

To the Flyers credit, benching Provorov was never a consideration.

Funny how the left does not like when the shoe is on the other foot. We were forced to eat the anthem protests, they are going to have to eat this.
