New Video Claims Special Agent David Lazarus Perjured Himself Over Jan. 6 Testimony

Blaze Media, in October, reported accusations against a Capitol Police Special Agent, David Lazarus, of providing false testimony during the Oath Keepers’ sedition trial in 2022.

The report claimed Lazarus committed perjury in a significant case related to the January 6, 2021, Capitol Hill uprising. Initially, Blaze didn't release the surveillance footage supporting its report due to lack of permission.

On Monday, Blaze finally released the footage, suggesting discrepancies in the testimony provided by Lazarus and Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn.

During the trial, Oath Keepers argued that they prevented pro-Trump protestors from clashing with Officer Dunn, while Dunn claimed the Oath Keepers were antagonistic.

Lazarus supported Dunn's account, stating he witnessed an "antagonistic" standoff. This testimony contributed to the sedition convictions of Oath Keepers members, including leader Stewart Rhodes receiving 18 years imprisonment.

Contrary to their testimony, Blaze's footage analysis revealed that Lazarus did not witness the alleged confrontation between Dunn and the Oath Keepers.

The footage, from multiple CCTV cameras, showed Lazarus arriving three and a half minutes after the Oath Keepers had left the area.

This contradicted Lazarus's claim of an "antagonistic" standoff. Blaze also highlighted inconsistencies with Dunn's forthcoming book, where he described a conflict with Oath Keepers.

In addition to the revelations about the Oath Keepers case, Blaze mentioned Dunn's candidacy for Congress.

Dunn, now running as a Democrat for Maryland’s 3rd District, announced his candidacy on Twitter earlier this month.

He aims to replace Rep. John Sarbanes (D-MD), who is not seeking reelection. The article also pointed out Dunn's past claims about the events of January 6, including alleged racist slurs directed at him, for which he has not provided footage evidence despite wearing a body camera.
