Republican Rep. James Comer has hinted at an upcoming testimony from Eric Schwerin, a former business associate of Hunter Biden, regarding the Biden family's business dealings.
Schwerin, once a business partner of Hunter Biden, visited the White House on at least 19 occasions during the Obama administration. This was a period when the current President, Joe Biden, was serving as the vice president.
Earlier this year, in response to a request made in February, Schwerin submitted documents to the House Oversight Committee. Daily Caller reported on this development.
Comer's Statement on Schwerin's Role
Comer, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, shared his thoughts with Fox Business host Larry Kudlow. He mentioned, “There have been some initial communication between Schwerin and our office but, you know, he holds a lot of answers to our questions.”
Comer further elaborated on Schwerin's frequent meetings with the then-vice president, stating, “He obviously met with the president countless times in the White House when Joe Biden was vice president, when Obama was president.”
Shedding light on Schwerin's responsibilities, Comer added, “He did the books for Joe Biden.” He also indicated that Schwerin had the authority to manage financial transactions on behalf of Joe Biden. This included both depositing and writing checks.
Furthermore, Schwerin's name has been linked to several shell companies, suggesting that he possesses significant knowledge about the Biden family's business operations.
Previous Testimonies and Revelations
Devon Archer, another ex-business partner of Hunter Biden, previously spoke to the House Oversight Committee investigators. This occurred on July 31, just before Archer began serving his prison sentence.
During this interaction, Archer revealed that the then-Vice President Joe Biden had discussed business deals with his son, Hunter, on over 20 occasions. This claim was later confirmed by Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Concerns Raised by Comer
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Comer posed a question: “What was the business?” He went on to suggest that the business might have involved influence peddling, which could be deemed illegal.
Such activities would necessitate registration as a foreign agent. Comer expressed concerns about the potential implications for Joe Biden, especially if funds were commingled.
He stated, “that puts Joe Biden in a very, very bad place at the end of this investigation. He holds a lot of answers to our questions.
The upcoming testimony from Eric Schwerin is eagerly anticipated, as it promises to shed more light on the Biden family's business dealings.
