NBC caught pushing Fake News about Harris
A host of the far-left NBC News outlet was recently caught pushing some false news on behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris.
The host, according to Fox News, is Kristen Welker.
Apparently, the fake news was even too much for NBC, as it decided to put out a statement admitting that Welker was wrong.
But, before we get to that, we'll look at what Welker said.
The details
The situation has to do with the Biden-Harris administration's botched withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan. This was the incident that, in Aug. 2021, led to the deaths of 13 U.S. service members. Renewed attention has been called to the botched withdrawal because we are at the three-year anniversary of the incident.
Over the weekend, U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) appearance on NBC's Meet The Press, where he was interviewed by Welker. There, Cotton criticized President Joe Biden and Harris for not being respectful to the families who lost their loved ones in the botched withdrawal.
Cotton said:
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris — where were they? Joe Biden was sitting at a beach. Kamala Harris was sitting at her mansion in Washington, D.C. She was four miles away — ten minutes. She could've gone to the cemetery and honored the sacrifice of those young men and women, but she hasn't. She never has spoken to them or taken a meeting with them. It is because of her and Joe Biden's incompetence that those 13 Americans were killed in Afghanistan.
Welker, here, jumped in to say, "They did meet them during the dignified transfer. They were with them at the dignified transfer."
The only problem, however, is that this is simply false.
"Incorrectly implied"
The "dignified transfer" referred to by Welker, is the event at which the United States received the bodies of those who lost their lives in the botched withdrawal. It is the event at which Biden was caught checking his watch, repeatedly.
Biden, indeed, was there, so Welker was right about that. But, Harris was not.
Accordingly, NBC felt the need to publish a statement correcting Welker.
The outlet wrote:
On our broadcast this morning, we incorrectly implied that both President Biden and Vice President Harris attended the dignified transfer of 13 American service members killed during the Afghanistan withdrawal. Biden was in attendance but Harris was not.
This must have been a tough one for NBC to write. For the record, Welker didn't "imply" anything. She explicitly said that both Harris and Biden were there, when only Biden was.
