Boston Celtics interim head coach Joe Mazzulla shocked a lot of people when he completely ignored the British Royal Family when William and Kate strolled into the Boston Garden recently to catch a matchup between the Celtics and the visiting Miami Heat.
His reasoning for ignoring the Royal Family?
He had no idea who they were.
"A non-basketball question: did you get a chance to meet with the Royal family, and if not, how was it like having them there in the building?" a reporter asked Mazzulla after the game.
Joe Mazzulla had no idea what the guy was talking about.
Clearly not joking, Mazzulla asked if the reporter was talking about "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph?"
"The Prince and Princess of Wales," the reporter stated.
"Oh, no I did not, I’m only familiar with one Royal family," Mazzulla answered. "I don’t know too much about that one. Thank you, but hopefully, they’re Celtic fans."

Mazzulla was recently named the NBA's Eastern Conference Coach of the Month. Apparently, a prerequisite to receiving the award was NOT to teach his players about the Royal Family.
The players barely even realized they were there either.
"It was just a regular game for me," Celtics star Jaylen Brown told reporters.
