Nancy Pelosi admits "I take responsibility" for J6 chaos

America's GOP knew exactly what they had to do once they got their hands on the footage:

Make sure all of America saw what the tape contained.

Nancy Pelosi, while being whisked away in a car by her security, admitted that she "takes responsibility" for the chaos that happened on January 6, 2021.

The recording shows Nancy Pelosi talking at her Chief of Staff Terri McCullough, complaining about how the evacuation from the U.S. Capitol had been handled.

Nancy Pelosi was supposed to be in charge of the security there, which is why this video is such a mark against her.

"We have responsibility, Terri. We did not have any accountability for what was going on there. And we should have," Pelosi said in the clip. "This is ridiculous. You’re going to ask me in the middle of the thing when they’ve already breached…that, should we call the Capitol Police? I mean the National Guard? Why weren’t the National Guard there to begin with?"

A female voice in the car then appeared to claim that Capitol security did believe they were prepared, something that Nancy immediately rejected.

"They clearly didn’t know, and I take responsibility for not having them just prepared for more."

While the aide was trying to throw Pelosi a bone to allow her to shirk responsibility, at least in the moment, Pelosi was able to admit that the chaos may have mostly been her fault.

Pelosi then shifted to blaming Donald Trump and his supporters instead of continuing to take responsibility:

"It’s stupid that we should be in a situation like this, because they thought they had what- they thought these people would act civilized? They thought these people would give a damn? What is it that is missing here in terms of anticipation? They give us a piece of paper that says walk through the tunnel, don’t walk outside. That’s your preparation?"

When Pelosi's office was asked about the video, they responded by saying "Numerous independent fact-checkers have confirmed again and again that Speaker Pelosi did not plan her own assassination on January 6th."
