Musk Tries to Put Out H-1B Visa Fire

Last week, Elon Musk found out just how vicious MAGA can be when you don’t fall in line.

While expressing his support for the H-1B visa program, Musk concluded that he would go down defending the program, and anyone who did not like it could go “F*** yourself.”

Well, MAGA pushed back, and it was Musk who ended up changing his tune.

So Much for Defense

MAGA lit up Musk on social media, but it was also because of some comments made by Vivek Ramaswamy, who I despise.

I will never support Ramaswamy because I think he is a snake in the grass and made his fortune in pump-and-dump schemes, likely bankrupting thousands who fell for his schtick.

After Musk stated his support for the visa program, Ramaswamy added, "American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence. A culture that celebrates the prom queen over the math olympiad [sic] champ, or the jock over the valedictorian, will not produce the best engineers."

In addition to MAGA supporters, more high-profile Trump supporters also pushed back.

For example, Laura Loomer, who loves to stir it up online, stated, "Our country was built by white Europeans, actually. Not third-world invaders from India. It's not racist against Indians to want the original MAGA policies I voted for. I voted for a reduction in H-1B visas. Not an extension."

After several days of outrage, Musk tried to cool the temperature down on his support for the program.

He posted, “Easily fixed by raising the minimum salary significantly and adding a yearly cost for maintaining the H1B, making it materially more expensive to hire from overseas than domestically.”

Musk added, “I’ve been very clear that the program is broken and needs major reform. I’m confident that the changes made in the @realDonaldTrump administration will make America much stronger.”

I am actually a little shocked that Musk caved this quickly, but it does show that he is willing to bend to stay in MAGA's good favor, as well as Trump’s.

He proved that after the media kept calling him President Musk, which was clearly getting to Trump.

I still think this friendship with Trump is destined for an ugly ending at some point because Trump does not like to share the spotlight, and both Ramaswamy and Musk crave it.
