Murder of United Healthcare CEO Appears to be Assassination

Several days ago, the entire country was stunned by the report of the shooting death of United Healthcare’s CEO, Brian Thompson, on the streets of New York City.

As more information became available, this clearly looked more like an assassination than a random murder.

Now, the video has been released, further making the case that this was a targeted hit.

Assassination or Random Attack?

The moment I saw this video, it was clear to me this was an assassination.

As Thompson comes into the shot, he is soon followed by a man in a hoodie who already has a gun with what appears to be a silencer on it.

He very calmly fires a shot at Thompson, who is then seen running toward the door of a nearby store.

The gun appears to jam, but the shooter does not panic, trying to work the action free before he appears to fire another shot…

The shooter then fled the scene, reportedly getting on an e-City Bike, and disappearing into Central Park. However, he was seen on surveillance video, so police do have a description of the man.

First responders showed up at the scene and offered CPR, then Thompson was transferred to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police now have an active manhunt for the suspect in the shooting.

At the time of the shooting, Thompson was heading to the Hilton for a healthcare conference.

According to Thompson’s wife, the CEO had received numerous threats leading up to the shooting.

The DOJ also revealed that Thompson was one of several executives who were being investigated by the DOJ.

Police later revealed that the shooter may have been trying to send a message with the murder, as they found the words “deny,” “depose,” and “defend” on casings that were left behind at the scene of the shooting.
