Michigan Democrat Pushing Biden Panic Button to Donors
One of the keys for Joe Biden to win the election is for him to win the Blue Wall.
Biden cannot do that without winning Michigan, and right now, that is not the case.
In fact, Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) has reportedly sent a letter to donors expressing serious concern over Trump's taking the lead in the state.
Bad News
This problem for the Democrats goes well beyond just losing the presidency.
If there is little energy to support Biden in an election, then the down-ballot tickets are going to suffer.
I have openly stated that if this is a “normal” election, I do not believe that the GOP will hold the House, which would be a disaster for Trump if he wins this election.
My concerns on this issue have been quelled just a bit by the current lack of enthusiasm for Joe Biden.
While Biden enjoyed a nice bump after Trump’s indictment, that has seemingly disappeared, and Trump is once again leading Biden in Michigan as well as all the other battleground states.
To that point, Slotkin wrote to donors, stating, “Right now, President Biden is behind Trump in all of our polling, and this Senate race is in a dead heat.”
Panic has started to leak into other states that Dems never even have to worry about.
For instance, in New York, Biden’s lead is now in single digits. Biden currently leads Trump by 9.2%.
That drop has created concern that New York could fall to Trump. Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine is legitimately freaking out about it, stating, “We’re still acting like this is a one-party state, which for pretty much 20, 25 years it has been. I truly believe we’re a battleground state now.”
Reports broke today that the Biden campaign is checking to see how Kamala Harris polls against Trump, but from the polls I have seen, she is actually doing worse than Joe, save two recent polls that came out.
The IPSOS/Washington Post/ABC News poll has Harris beating Trump 49-47%, and the SoCal Research/On Point Politics poll has Harris and Trump tied at 47%.
I refuse to believe either of those polls are accurate considering what we have seen in past polls, where Trump was beating Harris by seven points or more.
