It would appear as though the Mexican Cartel does not want our special forces units operating in their backyard.
After kidnapping four Americans, murdering two of them, the Cartel, or at least a letter purporting to be from the Cartel, asked for forgiveness, reports CBS News.
Not only that, the Cartel also turned over a handful of suspects that it says was responsible for the crime.
The Confession
The letter from the Cartel stated, "We have decided to turn over those who were directly involved and responsible in the events, who at all times acted under their own decision-making and lack of discipline," reports Fox News.
The letter would go on to say that the individuals that were turned over did not respect the cartels' rules of "respecting the life and well-being of the innocent."
This coming from an organization that regularly orders the murder of complete families of its enemies.
The Americans had been assaulted on the way to a cosmetic surgery procedure. Authorities believe they were more than likely confused with a rival cartel because of the vehicle they were traveling in.
Two Americans appear to have been killed during the initial assault, as their bodies were seen limp when being drug from the car to a pickup truck on surveillance video. The other two were found alive in a nearby shack, the guard having already been arrested.
The two surviving Americans were transported under heavy guard back over the border and taken to a hospital for treatment, one of them having suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
The alleged Cartel members were reportedly found blindfolded and tied up inside a truck with the alleged letter from the Cartel.
The attack against the Americans by the Cartel has created outrage in the Senate, with Republicans now calling for military action to wipe out the Cartel.
