Members of gospel music family The Nelons killed in plane crash
If you're a fan of gospel music, then you very well have heard of The Nelons.
Unfortunately, some tragic news about the family has just been reported. According to DailyCaller.com, members of The Nelons have been tragically killed in a plane crash on July 26.
According to the report, the family was traveling to the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska.
The accident took the lives of "Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, Amber and Nathan Kistler, their assistant Melodi Hodges, and the pilot Larry Haynie along with his wife Melissa, according to a statement released by the Gaither Music Management Group."
Autumn Nelon Streetman, the youngest daughter of Jason and Kelly, was not traveling on the plane. They landed safely in Seattle where they released a statement:
"We appreciate your continued prayers, love, and support as we navigate the coming days," Autumn said.
The crash is believed to have happened at around 1 p.m. local time in Campbell County, Wyoming.
According to Campbell County spokesperson Leslie Perkins, the plane was found in a remote area.
"The aircraft will then be recovered and taken to a secure facility for further evaluation," a spokesperson said.
Authorities have already been at the site investigating the crash and collecting evidence, but not much has been released to the public at the time of writing. The preliminary report is expected to be released within 30 days. A full report, however, could take up to two years to produce.
The Nelons are no small name in the world of Gospel music. Back in 2016, the family was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame.
We will be praying for the surviving members of this incredible family as well as the fans and family and friends who are mourning those we lost.
