Melania Trump’s Mother Dies at 78

The Trump family met with tragedy this week, as the mother of Melania Trump, Amalija Knavs, passed away this week.

Melania has been away from Mar-a-Lago to tend to her mother over the holidays.

She broke the news on Tuesday that her mother had passed.

She’s Gone

Melania posted the passing of her mother early Tuesday evening.

She wrote, “It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother, Amalija.

“Amalija Knavs was a strong woman who always carried herself with grace, warmth, and dignity.  She was entirely devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson, and son-in-law. We will miss her beyond measure and continue to honor and love her legacy.”

This all started out as rumors to explain why Melania had not been in the Trump family pictures over Christmas.

It was then revealed by someone close to the family that Melania left Mar-a-Lago to be with her mother, who was sick.

Donald Trump then updated everyone on New Year’s Eve, telling the crowd at his party, “Melania — great first lady, so popular, the people love her — she’s now in a hospital with her mother. Her mother, Amalija, is very ill, but hopefully, she’ll be recovering.

“But she’s been very ill, so I just want to say ‘hello’ to the first lady — we just spoke, down in Miami, great hospital — and hopefully they’ll be OK.

“But it’s a tough one, it’s a very tough one. She knows probably about 95% of the people in this room. We just want to wish Amalija that she gets better as quickly as possible.”

I have always liked Melania, and I just cannot imagine the pain this woman is going through right now as close as she was to her mother.

We send our condolences to Melania. Rest in peace, Mrs. Knavs.
