Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson and Bill O’Reilly back under Murdoch's umbrella

Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson, and Bill O'Reilly are, at least in a sense, returning home.

The digital media company Red Seat Ventures, which assists a variety of news personalities who have transitioned to independent careers, including the former Fox trio, is being acquired by Fox Corp., the organization that finances Fox News Channel, where all three of the aforementioned hosts took their climb to fame, as Breibart News reported.

The action seems to be intended to strengthen Tubi, Fox's free, ad-supported streaming service.

Paul Cheesbrough, the CEO of Tubi Medi Group, has been appointed as the chairman of Red Seat Ventures, which will operate independently.

About Red Seat

The enterprise will continue to be led by its founding partners, Chris Balfe and Kevin Balfe, but t he terms of the agreement were not immediately disclosed.

“From the beginning, Red Seat Ventures has had the opportunity to work with some of the most influential creators in the world to grow their new media businesses and develop their personal brands,” said Chris Balfe, in a statement.

“In aligning with Fox, we will be able to build upon that investment and expand the services we provide to our creators, while continuing to maintain the independence and integrity of their brands, which is truly the best case scenario.”

Balfe has collaborated with Glenn Beck, another Fox News exile, for many years, providing assistance with his production company, Mercury Radio Arts, and his media outlet, TheBlaze.

More Changes

Red Seat Ventures has formed partnerships with Eric Bolling, Nancy Grace, Dr. Phil, Dana Loesch, and Chris Hansen in recent years.

Fox's acquisition demonstrates its commitment to developing traditional talent in order to attract viewers in unconventional settings.

Independent creators have rapidly adopted podcasts, streaming programs, and newsletters as their primary tools. Despite the absence of a traditional distribution system, they can readily cultivate a community and fan base one subscriber at a time. They are able to retain a greater portion of the revenue they generate, as many of their ventures are quite successful.

This is not Fox Corp.'s initial acquisition in this vein. Outkick, a conservative sports news website founded by entrepreneur and online personality Clay Travis, was acquired by Fox in 2021.
