Meghan Markle 'upset and stressed' after backlash against lifestyle brand

Meghan Markle was excited to launch her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.

According to royal author Tom Quinn, it's not going as well as Meghan would have hoped.

The New York Post is reporting that Markle is "upset and stressed" over all of the problems facing her business venture.

Despite Markle first teasing the project back in March, the business has yet to get off the ground.

Meghan Markle planned on launching a hot new lifestyle brand, but a slew of trademark problems and the resulting backlash has been "nothing but stressful for the former actress," per royal author Tom Quinn.

"Friends have noticed that like all couples, Harry and Meghan have their rows and disagreements," Quinn said.

In addition to the problems that normal couples are likely to face, Meghan and Harry have an additional set of concerns.

They're super famous, they're estranged from the royal family, they're reality television personalities, and they're trying to be successful businesspeople as well.

"These are made worse simply because, unlike most couples, they spend almost all their time together," Quinn added.

"The relationship also gets trickier when things don’t go well with Meghan’s businesses — Meghan was hugely upset and stressed when her internet homemaking venture was mocked, and this took its toll on her relationship with Harry," the Yes Ma’am: The Secret Life of Royal Servants author added.

Despite all the troubles facing her brand so far, Meghan is hoping to get it off the ground in time to coincide with the start of her new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.

The show is set to debut on March 4.

Markle has already filed trademark applications covering an array of home goods, such as kitchen linens, drinkware, coffee and tea services, and more.

Some consumables were also listed, such as jellies, marmalades, body soap, body oil, and pet shampoo.
