Media Trying to Erase Harris’ Border Czar Role

There is a big push in the House right now regarding Kamala Harris’ role given to her by Joe Biden regarding the border.

Basically, this is all semantics at this point.

Having said that, the GOP introduced legislation to censure Harris for failing in her role as “border czar.”

Was She Named Border Czar?

The term “border czar,” as far as I can tell, was first put into play by Axios after Joe Biden announced that Harris would lead “our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border.”

Axios then ran a report with the headline, “Biden puts Harris in charge of border crisis.”

In a subsequent article, Axios reported, “Vice President Harris said Wednesday she plans to visit Mexico and Guatemala ‘as soon as possible’ in a diplomatic effort to address surging migration at the U.S.-Mexico border, Reuters reports.

“The number of unaccompanied minors crossing the border has reached crisis levels. Harris, appointed by Biden as border czar, said she would be looking at the ‘root causes’ that drive migration.”

Harris’ office also came out to push back on the report, stating that she was not dealing with the surge at the border, but the root causes of the surge.

Since Kamala became the presumptive Democrat nominee (due to expressed support from delegates), the Trump campaign has been attacking her as the “border czar.”

After the attacks started, Axios actually added a community note to its original post saying that Harris was never tagged as the “border czar” by the administration…

Whatever you want to call her, Harris failed at her task (flushing billions down the drain in money that was given to Northern Triangle countries to help fix the issue, but likely lined corrupt government officials' pockets), as up until recently, we had seen record-breaking numbers cross the border virtually every month, including an all-time record in December 2023 of more than 300,000 migrants.

And let’s face facts, that would still be the norm if this was not an election year.
