McEnany Offers Up New Name in Trump VP Debate
Donald Trump has been very coy with his choice for VP thus far.
He has hinted at a few names, most notably Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem.
Former Trump Press Secretary and current Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany is now throwing out another name, and nobody saw this one coming.
Bring On That Guy
McEnany, who I believe was one of the best modern-day press secretaries we have seen, is upsetting the apple cart and putting a new name into the race.
McEnany is suggesting Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin as the VP, believing he could help boost Trump’s campaign, but I just don’t understand her reasoning on this.
McEnany stated, “We don’t know what [Democrats] have planned, so we need someone who can bring in independents.
“I’m going to throw a name out there: Glenn Youngkin.”
When she was asked if she thought Youngkin and Trump could work together, she responded, “I think so. But Glenn Youngkin can do it. Look, Biden’s down 17 in the state, Glenn Youngkin’s up 24 – bring on that guy!”
Trump did not appreciate the suggestion, posting on Truth Social, “I don’t need any advice from RINO Kayleigh McEnany on Fox.
“Just had a GIANT VICTORY over a badly failing candidate, ‘Birdbrain,’ and she’s telling me what I can do better. Save your advice for Nikki!”
First, I don’t understand his hostility toward McEnany, as she served him faithfully and did an amazing job for him, nor is she a RHINO.
That aside, I do not like the suggestion because the VP needs to bring something to the table that helps Trump, and I am not sure only bringing independent voters to the table is enough for Trump in this race.
If Biden is already down in the state, I would be looking for someone else that adds more benefit.
This brings me back to Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.).
Scott will deliver South Carolina and national independent voters, but he would also give Trump a huge boost with minority voters.
There is also the added benefit that it would force Democrats to attack a black candidate, proving the hypocrisy of the party and how terrified they are regarding any minority candidate who dares to walk across the aisle.
Scott as VP can move the GOP significantly on this front, and that is why I believe he needs to be Trump’s VP choice.
