McConnell Visibly Injured After Another Fall
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has taken yet another tumble.
McConnell showed up Tuesday afternoon with a wrapping on his wrist and bandages on his face after taking another nasty fall.
Dems are now wondering where the calls are for McConnell to step down, but they are getting a reality check on that front.
Oopsie
McConnell was reportedly attending a Senate lunch when he went down, with medical staff quickly called in to assist McConnell.
McConnell’s office stated, “Leader McConnell tripped following lunch. He sustained a minor cut to the face and sprained his wrist. He has been cleared to resume his schedule.”
McConnell, who is 82 years old and a villain on both sides of the aisle, is finishing up his final term as GOP leader in the Senate.
He finishes as one of the least-liked politicians in modern history, yet the people of Kentucky continue to pull the handle for him every six years.
Hopefully, at the end of this term, he finally goes away.
I could not help but laugh at the many liberal and Democrat posts wondering why the GOP was not calling for McConnell to step down after his fall like they did with Joe Biden.
Well, we have been calling for McConnell to step down for nearly a decade, so his health issues only give us more reason to want him gone.
McConnell is a polio survivor, which accounts for some of his problems navigating steps, as this has always been a challenge for him.
However, at 82, a simple fall could lead to life-threatening injuries, so it really is time for Mitch to call it a day and turn that seat over to someone else, hopefully, someone who had not started to fossilize right before our eyes.
Senator John Thune (R-S.D.), 63, will be taking over the leadership role from McConnell.
Thune and McConnell were thick as thieves, but there is hope that he will not put up a wall of resistance in the Senate like McConnell did against Trump.
So far, Thune has been receptive to Trump, but we all know that can change on a dime once the new term actually begins.
As far as I am concerned, Thune is McConnell 2.0 until he consistently proves me wrong.
