Donald Trump is hoping to stack the deck against Senator McConnell (R-KY) if Republicans take the Senate.
Trump, and most MAGA conservatives, do not want to see McConnell leading the Senate when the 2023 session begins.
McConnell does not care, literally laughing off the attack with hubris.
I Have the Votes
I have never liked McConnell.
He is an establishment obstructionist and one of the many fossils that need to be removed from our government.
When McConnell was asked about the threat to his leadership position, he merely stated, “I have the votes.”
The question is if Trump runs and wins, would McConnell remain in office, or, at the very least, give up his leadership role?
He responded, “I’m not going to go there.
“I’m confident I’ll be re-elected to another two-year term.”
