Graham and Cruz Put Mayorkas on Impeachment Notice

Republicans are ramping up the pressure in the hopes they will take over the Senate.

With several races flipping in recent weeks, there is now a path for the GOP to take over both chambers.

With that in mind, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Senator Lyndsey Graham (R-S.C.) have put Mayorkas on impeachment notice.

Time to Go

I have been after Mayorkas from the outset.

I actually have him atop my list over Joe Biden to remove from office.

The man has gone completely rogue, blatantly disregarding our immigration laws.

The senators' letter stated, "This is gross dereliction of duty and, if not corrected swiftly, could provide grounds for impeachment.

"Your failure to faithfully enforce this nation's immigration laws and willful blindness to the very real humanitarian crisis at our southern border amounts to a gross dereliction of duty and a violation of your oath of office."

This goes beyond the surge of immigrants, however.

As we all know, the drug trade is booming, another point they covered in their letter.

They wrote, "Drug cartels produce bulk amounts of fentanyl in Mexico, using the Chinese-supplied ingredients, and smuggle the drug across the U.S.-Mexico border.

"This amounts to a multi-billion dollar business for transnational criminal organizations, who then launder the money out of the United States and back into China.

"This lucrative illicit enterprise continues to thrive—while Americans die—all because DHS has ceded control of our southern border to the cartels for political gain."

We can only hope the GOP takes the Senate to make this happen.
