Mayorkas Admits to ‘Significant Increase’ in ‘Homegrown’ Extremism Last Decade
For 12 of the last 16 years, we have had a Democrat administration running this country.
So, it stands to reason that when it comes to immigration and homeland security issues, the fault for most issues would fall on Democrats.
To that point, it was rather shocking to hear Homeland Secretary Mayorkas admit that over the last decade, there has been a significant rise in “homegrown violent extremism.”
Trending the Wrong Way
For all intents and purposes, Donald Trump had locked down our border by his third year in office.
Enter Joe Biden, who then opened the floodgates to the tune of more than eight million migrants crossing the border, and I am being very conservative in that estimate.
It was not that long ago that Biden and his administration were pushing white supremacy as the biggest threat, but now that they are headed out of office, Mayorkas dropped a bit of a truth bomb.
He stated, “We have a heightened threat environment, as Director Wray and the attorney general both articulated, and we’ve been saying this for quite a number of months.
“We have not only the persistent threat of foreign terrorism that, of course, created the Department of Homeland Security, but we have adverse nation-states, and for the past 10 years, we’ve seen a significant increase in what we term homegrown violent extremism. It is a very difficult threat landscape and it is why that we as a community, not just the federal government, but state and local officials and residents, need to be alert to it and take the precautions necessary to avoid violence from occurring.”
He later added, “The phenomenon of radicalization of individuals is not limited to the military. It is something that we are very focused upon in society writ large.
“The military is not immune to it, nor is the federal workforce, but this is something that we have to address as a community, not politicize, but rather be united in confronting and combatting.”
This, of course, was in response to the New Orleans terror attack, which Trump also had to comment on, stating, “Joe Biden is the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA, A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER.”
I agree with Trump, but I am also very interested in learning how the New Orleans attacker became radicalized.
Did it happen online, or did someone get across the border and start working from within the country to radicalize Americans to carry out their attacks?
Something is just not right here, and I firmly believe we have thousands of terrorist operatives now operating within our homeland. Sadly, I believe New Orleans was just the tip of the iceberg.
