Matt Gaetz Teases Removal of Kevin McCarthy

We are starting to get a better idea of why House Speaker McCarthy (R-CA) has started to bend on impeaching Joe Biden.

I have heard McCarthy state numerous times that he was hesitant or that there were ways for Biden to avoid this.

My general feeling is that he knows this is a mistake, but yet he moved forward with the impeachment.

Could it be that McCarthy is more worried about power than the party?

Threats

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), in my opinion, is a complete and utter idiot.

His main concern in Congress is to get headlines, and nothing more. Actually, the only real positive for Gaetz is his Heritage report number.

If I asked you how many bills have been signed into law that Gaetz sponsored, what would your guess be?

The answer is two. HJRes7, Relating to a national emergency declared by the President on March 13, 2020.

The second one was HR1096, the 250th Anniversary of the United States Marine Corps Commemorative Coin Act.

Basically, in seven years, Gaetz has managed to get a commemorative coin for the Marines, and everything else is what I call statement legislation, which is nothing more than something to grab headlines rather than meaningful legislation. Very few of his bills have even made it out of committee.

Gaetz does have some great moments in committee, but that is where his star stops shining, in my opinion.

He did, however, manage to get McCarthy over a barrel for his speakership, and now Gaetz is apparently flexing his muscles, threatening to have McCarthy removed if he did not push the impeachment forward.

Gaetz was mouthing off on Twitter, sending Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) a message, "Hi, Eric. If I make a motion to remove Kevin, how many Democrat votes can I count on? Asking for a friend…."

Now, Gaetz is in a safe seat, meaning it is an automatic vote for his constituents because they obviously do not look at his record. If someone were to primary him and show exactly what he has done for his constituents, which is literally nothing, they just might put the fear of God into him.

So it now looks like McCarthy, who is also in a safe seat, is bucking to pressure rather than doing the smart thing, and that surely is not pushing an impeachment that is destined to fail in the Senate.

Now, as I have said, if I thought there was even the smallest chance of the impeachment passing, I would be all-in, but it won't.

In fact, I would be willing to go out on a limb and say that there will be Republicans who refuse to vote to impeach Biden, which would be an utter disaster.

This is all about Gaetz sucking up to Trump, getting headlines, and bragging that he was behind the impeachment, nothing more.

And, sadly, McCarthy is too worried about losing the gavel to fight back.

I don't like McCarthy either, as I was hoping for some fresh blood in Republican leadership, as my opinion was that McCarthy has no spine, and he just proved me right.

What is the biggest problem in the Republican Party today? Aside from not having a spine to stand up to Democrats, we have too many people worried about shares, likes, and clicks rather than representing the will of We the People and what is most beneficial to us.

They are their own worst enemy and if they go through with this impeachment, it will fail, it will backfire, and it could possibly destroy what most of us were hoping to be a huge 2024.

They ruined 2020, then they destroyed 2022, and now they are doing their best to screw up 2024, arguably the best opportunity of all three elections.
