Marjorie Taylor Greene Threatens Motion To Vacate Speakership

Well, Kevin McCarthy has been out for some time, but many in Congress still don't seem happy.

Including a number of Republicans.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) started things off by bringing about the idea of taking the gavel from McCarthy, and now Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is keeping the fight going with regard to his successor.

She does NOT like what Speaker Mike Johnson, a Republican, has been doing since taking control of the chamber.

In fact, she has said that he's one more strike away from being BOOTED OUT of the speaker's seat.

Greene has officially vowed to launch an effort to remove Johnson from his position as speaker if he "capitulates on border fight," Just the News is reporting.

I'm well aware that Mike Johnson was thrown into a tough spot as speaker of the House, but the facts of the matter are that he simply hasn't gotten America on the same page. It might not even be his own fault, but there's no question that Republicans are facing serious internal divisions.

Greene said that she isn't hiding behind a keyboard and that she's told Johnson to his face that if he lets her down, she's going to do her best to oust him.

"In my meeting with him yesterday, and many other members of Congress, I let Speaker Johnson know that in no way shape and form will I support any type of CR," Greene said recently, referencing an ongoing battle over a spending deal.

Johnson has stood firm on a deal with Democrats to which Green has serious objections.

"That that is absolutely unacceptable and we actually have the power of the purse. We're the ones that are in control and we need to control the negotiations. I reiterated those same points this morning so the ball is in his court."

She promised to start the formal process for removing Johnson from his position if he doesn't cooperate.

I think she's serious.
