Mariah Carey’s Boyfriend Confirms Split

Last week, the gossip mongers started to spread the rumor that Mariah Carey and Bryan Tanaka had split up after seven years together.

The rumors were perfectly timed for Christmas, which is when Mariah Carey always pops back up the radar to rake in the cash.

Tanaka confirmed the two had split and said that the decision was “mutual” for them to part ways.

Time to Break

Carey, 54, and Tanaka, 40, are apparently victims of the seven-year-itch.

Tanaka had started off in the industry as a backup dancer for Carey, then the relationship blossomed and the two have been together since.

Christmas season is Carey’s bread and butter these days, so it just seemed natural that the gossip would pick up on her relationship over the holiday.

That was especially true when Carey showed up for her annual trip to Aspin over the Christmas holiday and Tanaka was not there.

The two had not been seen together in months, with the last social media post of them appearing in March to celebrate their anniversary. Carey has not posted anything that included Tanaka on her social media for almost a year.

Tanaka put the rumors to rest this week, posting on Instagram, “Dear friends and fans, 'With mixed emotions, I share this personal update regarding my amicable separation from Mariah Carey after seven extraordinary years together.”

The announcement continued, “Mariah’s dedication to her family and her commitment to her craft have inspired us during our shared journey. I want to express my love and appreciation for Maria and her incredible children, whose warmth and kindness have enriched my life in ways words cannot capture.”

Tanaka also asked that everyone respect their privacy during this time.

Other sources stated that he and Mariah split because he wanted children, and she did not want to have any more, already having twins with Nick Cannon.
